This project was originally developed for a Digital Illustration class at Cazenovia College. The object behind this project was to create a piece of artwork in Adobe Illustrator based on an editorial provided to us by our professor. The professor gave us many different options to choose from, but I settled on an editorial regarding the termination of the Mars rover Opportunity (nicknamed “Oppy” in the editorial). After referencing several images of the rover as well as posters by Shepard Fairey, Gracia Lam, and Pawel Kuczynski, I created the original piece seen here. However, I felt there were a few areas that could do with some touching up.

On Wednesday, September 9, 2020, I went back and revised a few areas I felt were lacking in the original piece. The first change saw a change in typeface from “Space” to “Space Wham”. The second change involved dropping the opacity of the dark blue, bright red, and pale yellow rectangle shapes.
