These are a series of mascot designs for Cazenovia College’s 2021 Senior Showcase for Visual Communications students. The client requested that the mascot should take cues from that year’s theme: 1920’s night life. With the given directions, my strategy was to look at a variety of 1920’s art and animation to create the Senior Showcase’s mascot: Ronnie Reisman. Looking to the work of Fleischer Studios and Osamu Tezuka, as well as fashion of the era, I created a variety of character designs for Ronnie, as well as a few other characters in my free time. After conducting a poll among my classmates, it was decided that the wildcat design would be chosen to be part of the Senior Exhibition.
